/k/interview: mengsuan

There's been a long standing myth that Lowyat.net forum moderators are dull and boring, that they don't appreciate day-to-day lulz. It's on the internet, so it has to be true? Moderator mengsuan explains:

Mythbusted, I would say.

/k/interview: Kampung2005

Contrary to public beliefs, /k/ is not a rubbish bin taking in all the scums which other forums didn't want to. No, /k/ is a like a mirror of society. It's for the people, and by the people. Good people, bad people, sick people, or just idiotic people.

One such people is Kampung2005, a train lover who cares enough about the condition of local public transport to share with /k/. Think of Kampung2005 as the Public Transport Minister of /k/.

Me: What do you think of Malaysia's trains (any trains, eg: KTMB, STAR)?
Kampung2005: The commissioning of first three sets of 4 car train on Kelana Jaya line is a welcome relief for congested Kelana Jaya line, for KTM...the new ETS represents new era in Malaysian rail travel, it is the first electric long distance intercity train service in Malaysia and it is good for OKUs too.....KTM Komuter should have more trains in future as the route may expand soon.

Me: What is your motivation for posting updates of trains in /k/?
Kampung2005: To let people know more about our trains and to discuss about it.

Me: If given a chance to own a local train company, which would you choose and why?
Kampung2005: Hard to answer.

Me: If you are given absolute power over /k/ one day (banhammer, softmod, etc), what would you do?
Kampung2005: Hard to answer, however i think it is should be moderated very firmly while at the same time, providing leeways maintaining the pulse of the /k, it's a delicate balance.

Me: What will be your reaction when /k/ shuts down?
Kampung2005: It doesn't affect me that much, because there are other places to take about train.

A somewhat serious person who gets the humour of /k/. Follow his threads if you want some sanity after all the lulz in /k/.

/k/interview: Obefiend's sister

According to obefiend's sister, obefiend died not long after he made the 2010 death list.

Me being me, I quickly fired a private message asking for details of obefiend's death, and an interview with obefiend's sister herself. Here's the reply.

I guess I was too insensitive. I'm sorry.

/k/interview: Baronic

This is one of the more boring interview I've done so far.

/k/interview: Hexism

/k/ is a wonderful place to meet people. Good people, bad people, and interesting/weird people. Hexism definitely falls in the interesting/weird category. A skilled artist and a frequent visitor of /k/, Hexism brought laughters and enlightenment with his comic strips. Here's one of my favourite of his work, depicting Lady GaGa:

So I decided to get him for an interview. He refused at first, but was moved by my sincerity *cough* and did it in the end.

Me: Are you a dupe?
Hexism:

Me: Why do you visit /k/?
Hexism:

Me: Do you see any future in /k/?
Hexism:

Me: If you are give absolute power over /k/ one day (banhammer, softmod, etc), what would you do?
Hexism

Me: What will you do if /k/ closed down?
Hexism:

Told you, Hexism is an interesting/weird person.

/k/interview: Polaris

After spending so many hours in so many days in so many years in /k/, I've come to recognize a few fixtures or respectable figures. These are the people that got /k/ mentioned in The Malaysian Insider.

Among all these people are the newsposters. Newsposters post news - good news, bad news, laughing out loud news. Among all these newsposters is Polaris.

If you lurk in /k/ long enough, you will notice Polaris posts all sorts of news whole day, particularly most in between 12am to 12pm. I follow Polaris's news threads religiously. Mostly because I don't newspaper and I'm bored. Yea, I'm bored most of the time. That's why I surf /k/.

Anyway, I finally got the courage to approach Polaris via private message in LYN. I asked if I can have an interview session with Polaris the legendary newsposter. Here's the reply:

I'm sad. :(

Thanks for the compliment anyway, Polaris.
